Hurricanes Irma and Maria | U.S. Virgin Islands
As the Database Developer and Reporting Manager for Hurricane Irma recovery efforts in the US Virgin Islands, I am responsible for creating and administering application platforms to report on the allocation of approximately $4 billion in recovery funding. Updating and maintaining the integrity of such large data sets from various databases requires constant attention and following-up with sources. With the majority of my reporting destined to meet the desks of leadership and ultimately, FEMA Headquarters, I am never satisfied with releasing a report before I have personally double-checked with colleagues to confirm accuracy. I exercise due diligence and take pride in delivering accurate information – my region can count on me to provide reliable reports that support our mission.
