Springtime snow melt and heavy rains caused widespread flooding across Nebraska, washing out roads, bridges, and culverts, and disrupting rural livelihoods. Our team’s work entailed extensive travel to reach remote agricultural communities that had lost vital networks for transporting crops and commodities. In some counties, hundreds of roadway systems needed to be replaced, or repaired. I worked closely with local highway departments to account for each and every damaged site to ensure that transportation networks would be restored. Within eight months, we finalized all site inspections and produced cost estimates to support recovery efforts.
